Charles T. Sumner, age 80, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He is survived by the love of his life, Doris Hoover; loving children: Thomas R. (Dana) Sumner and Tammy (Chris) Manning; cherished grandchildren: Michael (Mariah) Clay, Faith Manning, Zoey Manning and Brooklyn Manning; brother, Bobby Sumner. Preceded in death by his brothers: William and Jesse Sumner and sisters: Carolyn Sumner and Marilyn Heart.
Charlie retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997 after a dedicated career. Known for his kind heart and giving spirit, he found joy in repairing bicycles and filling tires for neighborhood children and local police officers, earning him a special place in the community.
He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
