Donald Gene Marsh

Donald G. Marsh, 76, of Richton Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Barbara L. Marsh; cherished sons, Steven Marsh and Jeffrey (Emily) Marsh; and adored grandchildren, Hannah, Katelyn, Sydney, and Carter. He is also survived by his dear brother, William (late Mary Carol) Marsh II; brothers-in-law, Raymond (late Susan) Nilles, James (Blythe) Nilles, and Lawrence (Merrily) Nilles; sisters-in-law, Laura (Bud) Short and Judy Mills; as well as 15 beloved nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Marsh, and his parents-in-law, Raymond and Lillian Nilles; brothers-in-law, Richard (late Carol) Nilles and David Nilles and nephew, Charles Marsh.

A proud graduate of Lake Central High School, class of 1968, Donald dedicated 34 years of his career as a technician at Xerox Co. An avid aviation enthusiast, he found joy in watching planes soar across the sky. Donald also cherished working in his yard, tinkering in his garage, and, most especially, building Lego creations with his grandson, Carter. A passionate reader and history buff, he had a deep appreciation for learning. Above all, Donald was a devoted grandfather whose love for his grandchildren shone brightly in all he did. His warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Gathering to honor Donald’s life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 24800 S.
