Donna Marie McBride

Donna Marie McBride, 78, of Monee, Illinois, passed away on September 15, 2026. Born March 12, 1948, She was a beloved and cherished presence to all who knew her—devoted in her love for family, compassionate in her care for others, and hard-working in the steady way she met life each day.

Donna was born to Andrew and Margaret Smado and graduated from Bloom High School, Class of 1967.

Donna was married to the love of her life, Ronald L. McBride, for 58 years. Together they built a family that remained at the center of her world. She is survived by her children, Tracy L. (Travis Skyberg) McBride and Patrick Ronald (Jennifer) McBride; and by her grandson, Zayden Tracy McBride, whom she loved dearly.

Donna is also survived by her siblings, Andrew (Sally) Smado, John Smado, and Josephine Smado; her sister-in-law, Mary Jo (John) Verhaeghe; and her brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) McBride.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Margaret Smado; siblings: David Smado, Frankie Smado, and Tommy Smado and brother-in-law, Donald (Danielle) McBride.

Donna found joy in the time spent cooking and baking for others, and in the calm of fishing. A true social butterfly and unmistakably the life of the party, she had a gift for bringing people together and making them feel welcome. Above all, she loved being a grandma, and her warmth and kindness touched many lives. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the American Legion Post 392 (109 E. North Street, Peotone, IL) from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donna's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org). Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park is entrusted with arrangements.
