Dorothy J. Olmsted, age 89, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL to the late Arthur and Julia Ross. Beloved wife of the late Fred L. Olmsted; mother of the late Carol Olmsted, Fred (Deb) Olmsted, Jr. and Gary Olmsted. Grandmother of Kirsten (Sam) Franke; great grandmother of Hassler and Hendrix Franke. Dear sister of the late John (Sue) Ross.
Dorothy enjoyed eating pizza at Valentino’s back in the day or Sanfantello’s, having a glass of wine and her dark chocolate creams from Fannie May. She loved traveling with Fred around the world. She also enjoyed shopping, reading books, and talking with family and friends. She liked her time working at ATP where she retired from many years ago before moving to Mokena.
A private family funeral will be held at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park (24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL) A Celebration of Life will be held at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Frankfort, IL at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
