Gary William Olmsted, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Born in Chicago Heights, IL to the late Fred L. and Dorothy Olmsted. Dear brother of the late Carol Olmsted. Gary is survived by his brother, Fred (Deb) Olmsted Jr. He was formerly married to Valerie Larson and was the father of Kirsten (Sam) Franke, grandfather of Hassler and Hendrix Franke.
Gary enjoyed fast cars and loud music, his favorite band was The Who. He was a great handy man and could fix about anything. He also enjoyed cooking dinners and always requested his Mom’s Pineapple Upside Down cake for his birthday dessert. Gary loved a good pizza and Clint Eastwood movies, and he always enjoyed going out for ice cream with his daughter Kirsten.
Funeral Services will be held privately by Gary’s family. Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park entrusted with arrangements.
