Genevieve M. Manson

Genevieve M. Manson, better known as "Genie", passed away mercifully and peacefully in her sleep on November 3, 2025, at the age of 92 years young. Genie was preceded in death by her loving husband Claude J. Manson, Jr.; brother, Joseph and sisters: Joan and Jodie; and parents Joseph Taylor, Sr. and Harriet (Sanders) Taylor. Genie was born and raised in California where she first met Claude but after getting married, Claude and Genie moved to Matteson, IL where they had their first and only house built in 1957.

Genie is survived by her three children: Claude (Denise) Manson III, Michael (Janet) Manson and Michele (Richard) Deering. She has seven grandchildren that she loved spoiling and spending precious time with: Hailey Manson, Bryce Manson , Brett Manson, Derek Manson, Rick Deering, Jr., Michael Deering and Danielle Deering. She also has one great grandchild, Miles Deering.

Genie was very active all her life. She was one who you would never find sitting still. For a good portion of her life, she worked part-time as a secretary for the Matteson Parks and Recreation department, where she enjoyed many of their activities, especially volleyball. But her greatest passion was her husband, family, her house and spending summers at their beloved cottage in Wisconsin. Genie's outgoing, charismatic and friendly personality touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and spending time with her.

Burial service will be held on on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL. For further information, please call 708-534-8256
