Jim leaves behind his cherished children, Matthew (Vanessa) Woolf, Elizabeth Woolf, and Kristine (Eric) Woolf, as well as his brother, William (Amy) Woolf, and his grandchildren Morganna, Easton, Zathan, Audrey and Phiona. He is predeceased by his loving parents, Merle and Virginia Woolf.
Out of all of Jim's accomplishments, there were several he talked about most: graduating from Roosevelt University, working for 20+ years in the mental health field, and playing semi-professional football for the Broncos. He was also thrilled to share his faith with anyone who would listen. His spiritual journey culminated in his becoming a Christian, which he considered the greatest decision he ever made.
Jim enjoyed the simple things in life: Italian beef, bottled spring water, and a good cup of coffee with hazelnut creamer. He loved to study The Bible and read biographies. He was a forever fan of The Beatles, and he never gave up on The Chicago Bears, even when they struggled season after season. His thoroughly enjoyed stand-up comedy performances, and some would say he even wished he was a comedian.
Jim's favorite recreational pastimes were fishing and biking. He was hungry for knowledge, always eager to learn anything new. He lifted weights for many years, even when his health was declining. He was passionate about Jesus and evangelism, and hoped to one day volunteer on the prayer team at the local hospital. While he never got the opportunity to do that officially, he certainly prayed with and for a lot of people during his time there! More than anything, Jim loved his family.
Jim will be dearly missed, but we celebrate that he is now in his heavenly home and at perfect peace. We do not mourn as the world mourns, but with the hope of eternity.
