Janet R. Witlock

Janet R. Witlock, 88, of Manteno, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Janet's warmth and love touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her cherished children: David Swadener, Mary Nash, and Barbara Losh; beloved grandchildren: Kenneth (Tiffany) Nash and Corey (Stacy) Stadt; adored great-grandchildren: Saige, Jax, Matthew, and Natalie; and great-great-granddaughter, Athena. Janet also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Alice Brown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Witlock; her parents, Ray and Gertrude Brown; her grandchildren, David Swadener, Jr. and Tiffany Swadener; and her siblings, Robert Brown and Mildred Fortney.

Janet enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family.

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Skyline Funeral Home and Memorial Park, located at 24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 P.M., with inurnment at Skyline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Dementia Foundation in Janet’s memory.
