

On October 11th, 1975, she married the love of her life, Lee Boswell, beginning a marriage filled with devotion, partnership, and family. Together they raised two children Jennifer Marie Boswell and Christopher Brian Boswell, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was also a proud grandmother of Hailey Lynn Brown. She was the daughter of Amos Washington Johnson and Lorraine Marian McCurrie of East Hazel Crest. She is survived by her sister Marilyn “Pat” Bogash (m. Dave Franzen), her niece Tammy Vanko (Bogash), and nephew James Bogash.
Kathy was a proud graduate of The University of Georgia and a former employee at Homewood Disposal for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading books, going to the symphony, walks in nature, volunteering at St. Boniface Catholic Church and for the American Legion Unit 1200.
Kathy fought her illness with remarkable courage and determination, showing the same resilience and strength that defined her life. Even through difficult days, Kathy kept a smile on her face and continued to show her love for others.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering love for those closest to her, and the countless memories shared with family and friends throughout the years. Her presence brought laughter, joy and comfort to so many.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27th, 2026 at St.Boniface Catholic Church at 5304 W. Main St. Monee, Illinois. A Celebration of Life to follow at 12:15 PM at Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery at 24800 S. Governors Highway in Monee, Illinois.
