In loving memory of Roy Gene Harmon, Sr., also known as Papa, who passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. Roy was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who brought love and humor into the lives of everyone who knew him.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Beverly, and together they created a loving family and home for 65 years. Before his retirement, he was a loyal employee of Ford Motor Company for 40 years. In his spare time, he loved bike riding, listening to music, making homemade ice cream, learning about history, and going on outings and road trips with his family. He will be remembered most for his deep love for his family, his sense of humor, and the way he said “cheese” when smiling for photos. Roy’s family and friends will carry forward his spirit by approaching life with the same love and laughter that he so enjoyed.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Fannie Harmon; and siblings, Bernard, Sylvia, Dorothy, Floyd, Eldon, and Marie.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly (nee Darby); his children, Vicki Bock (Jeffery), Connie Ahmann (David), and Roy Gene Harmon, Jr.; grandchildren, Ryan Goetsch (Cassandra), Jason Bock (Annmarie), Kristen Bock (Max), Julie Ahmann (Sean), Jamie Dirienzo (Tony), Christie Orr (Jesse), and Amber Moss (Kirk); 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Ervin Harmon (Dorotha); sister-in-law, Nancy Harmon; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
