William E Philipps, age 89 of Park Forest, IL., formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on August 16, 2026. “Bill” lived in Park Forest with his beloved wife of 26 years, Althea (Kiki) & their Maltipoo, Hershey.
Bill grew up in Chicago and was a Korean War Army Veteran. He had many jobs and interests and received his pension from UPS as a semi driver.
He loved tinkering and fixing things including clocks. He could fix anything electric. He loved spending time with is children & grandchildren, fishing, gardening, birdwatching, feeding “his” birds and sitting in his recliner watching tv with the dog on his lap.
He loved the Lord and his wife & family. He was a devoted Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother & Uncle. He is the son of the late Edwin & Viola (Simpson) Philipps. Bill was one of seven siblings. MaryAnn, Robert, Edwin (Cathy), Kathleen, Michael (Kaye) & Mary Therese. His beloved children are William, Sherri, Jayne & Patrick. His bonus children are Jaime, Pete & Josh including sons-in-law Rick & Jeremy & daughters-in-law Chrissy, Katie & Sarah and too many grandchildren & great grandchildren to name.
Bill loved his church, Christian Hymns and reading his Bible. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, 4:00 P.M. at Living Streams Christian Fellowship at Watershed Cafe in the Mokna Towne Square Plaza Mall (19852 LaGrange Rd, Mokena, IL 60448).
