Anna Field, was born to Anna and Gerald Field on January 1, 1926, in Queens, NY. Anna attended Dominican Commercial High School in Queens and received an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Molloy College in 1977. She worked for many years as an Executive Assistant to the President of the Equitable Life Insurance Company in Manhattan. Growing up, Anna enjoyed many summers with her family and cousins in Lindenhurst, Long Island. She enjoyed swimming, boating, and fishing. She met and married the love of her life, George Nicol on August 23, 1947. Living in Malverne, NY, Anna was a member of the Holy Rosary Society at Our Lady of Lourdes. Anna and George received a Papal Blessing on their 45th wedding anniversary. Both were devout Catholics.
From New York, they moved their family to Brookfield, CT in 1977. They were members of the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, CT, where Anna enjoyed the ladies bowling league and played many rounds of golf. She was an active member of Catholic Family Services. She was honored by receiving the Mary Dolce Award for outstanding service and was presented with this honor by Bishop Lori of Bridgeport, CT.
Anna and George loved to travel. They visited Ireland, Germany, and England to name a few and Cruised on the Queen Elizabeth 2 to Alaska.
Anna was so happy spending time with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, Brendan, Matthew, Andrea, and David.
Besides her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George Nicol, her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Annette Field, and her son-in-law, Patrick Mallon.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Marianne Mallon, her son, Robert, grandchildren, Brendan and Matthew Mallon, Andrea and David Nicol. Great-granddaughters Maeve, age 3, daughter of Brendan and Olivia, and Lila, age 1, daughter of Matthew and Aidan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Spadaccino and Leo Gallagher Funeral Home located at 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. CT. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury, CT. www.spadaccinofuneralhome.com
