Anne was born on June 28, 1926 in Bridgeport, CT to Giovanni & Ernestina Francischiello of Ururi, Italy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph who was the love of her life. Their bond was a lasting example of devotion and partnership, and we take comfort in knowing they are reunited.
Anne was a gentle soul with a kind and giving heart, someone who loved deeply and unconditionally. Her warmth, compassion, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. Family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride and joy in those she loved.
She was an incredible and devoted mother to her four daughters, Roseanne Goldberg, Michele Del Grande, Lisa Waldo, and Joan Hainsworth. She also cherished her sons-in-law, Dan, Don, and Bob, as her own. Her grandchildren Sharon Goldberg, David & Emily Goldberg, and Jackson & Eric Waldo were the joys of her life, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
Anne is now reunited with her predeceased treasured godson Michael Francischiello and she is also lovingly remembered by her beloved goddaughter Laura Harper along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was an exceptional cook, and her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and love. Her recipes shared generously and made with care are treasured by her family and will continue to bring them together for generations to come. Anne was also a gifted artist, possessing a natural talent in drawing and painting that was quite remarkable, as well as a skilled seamstress, tailoring everyone’s clothes when asked.
As a young woman, she volunteered in the war effort producing vital war materials for the Armed Forces at the Bridgeport Brass Co.. Anne was a volunteer puzzlist for Newtown Library the last few years and loved riding her recumbent bike every day.
Anne’s legacy, as the family’s matriarch, is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
