Born in Peschici, Italy, she was the daughter of Lorenzo and Loreta Petrilli. She was employed at Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich, CT as a seamstress. Nina had a talent for envisioning and making her own clothes, curtains, and unique household items. Nina loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her "famous" Christmas cookies and her stellar Italian cooking.
She is survived by her daughter, Enza Martino, and 3 grandchildren: Erica, Melissa, and Matthew Martino. She was predeceased by both of her parents, her husband Antonio Cariglia, and sister Anna “Lina” Cajelli.
Friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 3-6pm, at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10am at St. Jude’s Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. Interment to immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road, Monroe, CT. Reception to follow.
