With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Beatrice Briglia, affectionately known as Pat, announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 96.
Born Beatrice Sherry, the daughter of John Sherry and Helen Ring. Pat was the loving wife of the late Arnold Briglia, a respected member of the Bridgeport Police Department, where he proudly served the City of Bridgeport for nearly 35 years.
Pat was a devoted mother and was predeceased by her beloved sons, Alan and Michael. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Robin Johnson, and her son-in-law, Ron.
She was a cherished grandmother to (Robin & Ron's Sons) Ron Johnson Jr., Michael Johnson & Shari Stafford (Alan and Linda's daughter) & Shari’s husband, Danny. Pat was a proud great-grandmother to Danny and Ryan Stafford, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Pat is also survived by her brother, Donny and was predeceased by her siblings Junie Sherry, Kitty Caribe, Barbara Gaddis, Gloria Torreso, and Dolores “Dodo” Acanfora. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Pat found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gathering with her sisters for card games filled with laughter and memories, enjoyed trips to the casino, and faithfully watched and cheered for her New York Yankees. She had a special place in her heart for dogs and found joy in every animal she encountered. Her gentle nature and compassionate heart touched both people and animals alike.
Above all else, Pat’s greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply, gave selflessly, and created a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will continue through the generations.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Parish in Stratford, followed by interment at St. Michael Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Arnold, and reunited with those she loved who went before her.
A luncheon will immediately follow the church service at the family’s home. All are welcome to join together in celebrating Pat’s life and sharing memories of a woman who was deeply loved.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing Pat is at peace and reunited with the loved ones she missed. Her love will remain our greatest blessing, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
