

Robert L. Piccuillo, age 88 passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital after a courageous battle with melanoma. Born on Christmas Eve, 1937, in Yonkers, NY, Robert was the son of Louis and Rose Piccuillo.
Bob graduated from Bullard Havens High School and went on to build a distinguished career as a manufacturing engineer. He spent many years as a machinist at Sikorsky, Avco and Bridgeport Machines.In addition, he spent many years as the East coast sales manager for Maho Corporation
He was in the US Naval Reserves from 1955-1962.
In 1953, at the age of 16, Bob met the love of his life, Mary D’Amico. The two were inseparable and shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling the world and spent many winters in Florida where they enjoyed going to the beach. Bob loved playing golf, watching sports and was an avid fan of the Yankees, the NY Giants and UConn Basketball. His favorite things were Mimi's delicious cooking and hearing about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pride in his role as “Papa” and would attend as many events and games as he could, often providing colorful commentary and feedback.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and his twin sister, Barbara Donato. He is survived by his cherished wife Mary, his children Bob (Darlene) Piccuillo of Oxford CT, Donna (Gerry) McGavick of Acton MA, and Todd (Tracy) Piccuillo of Newtown, CT; his grandchildren Vanessa Scanlon, Bobby Piccuillo, Sean and Patrick McGavick, Andrew and Jameson Piccuillo; three great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held from 11-1 on Saturday, November 28th at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, Connecticut.
