Born in Bridgeport, he grew up in Monroe and was the youngest son of John and Patricia Maklary. Brian was a highly skilled mechanic and DOT safety inspector, and worked in the electrical, plumbing, and other trades over the years. He was also a former member of the Monroe Fire Department.
Brian enjoyed the outdoors, including boating, ebiking, and riding ATVs, and spending time with friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, kindness, affinity for animals, and warm bear hugs.
Brian is survived by his partner, Christie Curreri, his parents, and his brothers Michael and John. He was predeceased by his brother, Stephen.
Visitation will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468, on June 25, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
