Born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 23, 1951, he was the son of Charles and Marie Carrano. He graduated St. John’s University. He was employed at Nine West/Jones Group and worked as a Finance Manager of International Credit.
He loved history, playing roulette, was captain of his college bowling team and bowled like a professional bowler. He was a talented softball pitcher and a diehard NY Yankees and NY Rangers fan. Loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, Charles was full of soul and witty sarcasm that brought warmth and charm. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and lighthearted antics that overlay a rather serious demeanor. He had exquisite penmanship and an eloquent way with words. He always talked about writing a book one day. He was nostalgic and loved to share stories. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren and they adored him.
He is survived by wife of 45 years, Carol Carrano, mother, Marie Carrano, son, Charles A. Carrano, daughter, Carissa Carrano Graham and son-in-law, Christopher Graham, daughter, Crystal Carrano and boyfriend Gus Meira, and Grandsons, Christopher Charles Graham and Caden Frederick Graham. He was predeceased by father, Charles E. Carrano, grandparents, Frank and Jennie Pacelli, and grandmother, Jean Manacuso.
