February 21, 1973 – January 13, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home
Daniel M. Engeldrum, 49, suddenly and tragically passed away on January 13, 2023.
Dan was born in Bridgeport to Geraldine and Louis Engeldrum on February 21, 1973, as the fourth of eight children. He was a 1991 graduate of Masuk High School in Monroe. He was well-loved and has left a hollow emptiness in the hearts of his sisters, brothers and the many nieces and nephews who cared deeply for him. Dan loved to engage in dialogue, had a laid-back, easy-going disposition, almost carefree in the way he approached everyday life. Basketball was Dan’s passion and March Madness brought him true joy. Before he departed this world, Dan was able to give the gift of life by donating his heart, liver and kidneys to those in need – a gesture that would have made him smile.
Dan was predeceased in death by his father Louis J. Engeldrum.
He leaves behind his mother Geraldine, brother Thomas, sister Elaine and husband David, brother Peter and wife Traci, brother Matthew and wife Kate, sister Laura and husband Richard, sister Sheila and husband Brennan and brother Kenneth and wife Marty. Along with his siblings, time with Dan will be missed by a slew of adored nieces and nephews, which include, Owen, Jillian, Aidan, Sarah, Michael, Julia, Colin, Liam, Nora, Gavin, Patrick, Emma, and Declan.
Funeral services will be private followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and internment.
In Dan’s memory, please donate to New England Donor Services, and/or seriously consider registering as a donor yourself at neds.org.
