

Daniel Leo Roche, Jr., 77, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Bogota, New Jersey and New York City, died peacefully on January 6, 2012, at Masonicare of Newtown, Connecticut. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Dacres) Roche for 54 years.
He was born and raised in New York City and joined the Navy after high school. He was most proud of his service as a sailor aboard the U.S.S. Charles R. Ware during the Korean War. He later began his career as an Elevator Mechanic for Local One in New York City, retiring to Florida in 1996.
Besides his wife, he leaves his beloved sister, Elizabeth Garcia of New York City, his daughters, Kathy Silber, and husband Mitch, of Orlando, Florida, Joanny Bauer, and husband Michael of Monroe, Connecticut, and Trish Burke, and husband John, of Ringwood, New Jersey. He also leaves his cherished six grandchildren Danny and Matthew Silber, Lauren and Lisa Bauer, and Jenna and John Burke Jr. In addition, he leaves his first great grandson, Kaiden Michael Silber.
He will be remembered by his family for his kindness and generosity, and his devotion to family and country.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Stephen’s Church, Trumbull, CT with internment immediately after at Middletown Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 3 –8 p.m. Arrangements are by Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, Monroe, CT. His family will be forever grateful for the loving care given to him by the staff of Masonicare of Newtown.
