It is with deep sadness that we announce David Quong, 74, passed away on October 26, 2026 following complications from a stroke. He was born on July 28, 1952 to Chui Sun Quong and the late Yook Jing Quong. David grew up in New Haven, CT, where he enjoyed a youth full of adventure and occasional mischief. He graduated from Hamden High School in 1970 before becoming a long-time resident of Monroe, CT.
David had an unmatched passion for life. He was the Dave of All Trades: he found joy in figuring out almost any problem, whether it was installing an in-home generator, sticking an emergency airplane landing, or teaching himself amateur radio. He enjoyed going on long road trips with his family and would frequently drive over 2 hours to eat at his favorite restaurant, where he once devoured nine dozen oysters as an appetizer.
David’s generosity was far reaching. He could always be counted on to lend a hand for any project. He was a skilled marksman and enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, tree cutting, and endless other outdoor activities throughout the years. He enjoyed staying active through tennis, which eventually led to him meeting his wife, Susan.
David enjoyed a 40-year career at Sippin Energy Products, where he worked closely with his boss and mentor, Bernie Sippin, and his sons. His expertise and unparalleled work ethic made him a trusted advisor to countless coworkers throughout the years, many who ended up becoming close friends.
His legacy and love will live on through his devoted wife, Susan, his daughter Emma, his mother Chui, sisters Jean and Irene, and brother Richard. He is survived by his nieces: Rebecca and Christina (Carl), nephews: Christopher and Calvin; and sister-in-law: Julie (Joe). David will also be missed by his beloved dog and companion, Remy.
Visitation hours to honor David’s life will be held at Spadaccino Funeral Home on Thursday, October 29, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Friends and family are invited to further celebrate DQ’s life on Saturday, October 31.
