Born in Danbury, she was the cherished daughter of Frank Carmignani and Beverly Vona. She was also predeceased by her loving mother.
Dawn leaves behind her three children, who were the pride of her life: Misty Smith, Nicole Maklyan and her husband, Yuriy Maklyan, and William Smith. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren—Dawson James Horning, Victoria, Arianna, Connor, and Gabriella Maklyan—each of whom she adored beyond measure.
She will be dearly missed by her brothers, Mark and Jim Carmignani, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who loved her deeply.
Dawn will be remembered for the unmistakable light she carried with her wherever she went. Her presence was warm, kind, and uplifting—she had a way of making people feel seen, cared for, and hopeful. She brought laughter into even the hardest days and found joy in helping others, a beautiful quality that defined her throughout her life.
Those who knew Dawn will forever hold onto the funny moments, her silly sayings, and her unique sense of humor. There truly was no one else like her, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
May her memory continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 29th from 1 - 3pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT.
