Born in Bridgeport, CT, on August 24, 1931, Dolores was the daughter of the late Philomena Petrino Bujnak (John Bujnak) and Daniel Sturchio. She graduated with honors from Harding High School, Class of 1949. Early in her career, she worked at The Bullard Company as Secretary to the President—where she met the love of her life. In 1952, she married James Arthur Lucey, with whom she shared a beautiful life until his passing.
Since 2011, Dolores was a cherished resident of the Wesley Heights Community in Shelton, where she remained active and proudly served as President of the Residents’ Council.
Known affectionately as “Nana,” Dolores was a natural hostess, a gifted cook, and the heart of every gathering. Her parties were legendary, her Rob Roys had to be made just right, and her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her meatballs, sauce, homemade pizza, and Thanksgiving pies were without comparison—family favorites that will be remembered for generations. With her bright smile, deep faith, and unwavering kindness, she made all feel welcome. She loved to travel with her family, explore new places, and meet new people. To her, there were no strangers—only friends she hadn’t yet met.
Nana’s family was her life, and her life was her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She is survived by her loving daughters, Dr. Kimberly Lucey (James Schoenadel) and Donna Nayden (Bernard Buchheit); and her treasured grandchildren: William Nayden, Kara Modica (Charles), Lauren Schoenadel (Edgar), Emma Nayden, and Krista Nayden (Cameron). In addition to her beloved husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Florence Pavlick (Edward). Nana will be missed beyond measure.

A Celebration of Life will follow immediately at Ralph-n-Rich's Restaurant, 815 Main St, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will be private.
