Edward Arthur Jensen

Eddie was the Owner of Jensen, Tire, Automotive and Marine, LLC located in Monroe CT and Jensen, Tire, and Automotive, LLC in Trumbull CT.

Eddie began his love for cars at a very young age, beginning when he was a young boy helping at his grandfather’s (Edward Jensen) gas station in Bridgeport. He studied automotive repair at Bullard Haven’s Technical School. While at technical school he deepened his knowledge of automotive mechanics becoming certified as an ASE mechanic. Eddie worked in the automotive industry all of his life. He worked at various repair shops. In 2002, with the unending support from his wife Veronica and son Jack, Eddie opened his own business in Monroe, CT. The business quickly grew and in 2012 he opened his second location in Trumbull, CT. Eddie was an exceptional businessman and always put the customer first. Many early mornings passerbys would see the light on at one of the shops where Eddie would prepare for the day ahead.

Outside of work his world was centered around his beloved wife Veronica and son Jack. In the summer you could find Eddie and family boating or riding jet skis on Lake Zoar. When he was not with family you could find Eddie at a local race track lending a helping hand in the pits. Eddie and Jack raced go karts together and Eddie was very happily his son’s pit crew. Eddie got his love of racing from his father and has passed it down to Jack.

He was extremely well known throughout the local community. While his son Jack was in Cub Scout Pack 262, Eddie was a co-den leader with his good friend Richard Correll. Eddie was also an assistant troop leader for Boy Scout Troop 63 out of the Monroe Congregational Church. He was a little league coach for Jack’s teams. He sponsored multiple youth sports teams in Monroe and Trumbull. Eddie also was the sponsor of the yearly Pinewood Derby for his nephews’ Cub Scout Pack 509 in North Carolina.

Eddie loved spending time with Veronica and Jack. Recently, Eddie spent every May in Indianapolis taking in the sights, sounds, and action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica Jensen married for 32 years; and his son John Edward (Jack) of Speedway, Indiana who were the center of his world. Veronica and Jack both meant the world to Eddie. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Shelia Long of Monroe, CT and Katie Heskett and husband Dr. Eric Heskett of Asheboro, NC and his beloved nephews Avery and Aiden Heskett. He is also survived by his loving Aunts - Joyce, Cathy, Debbie, and Carol. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward H. Jensen Jr. and Patricia Jensen and his brother Michael Jensen.

The family will receive friends at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family kindly request that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org)
