

Esther was a retired member of the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Division. During her service, she traveled the world and was assigned to U.S. Embassy in France, Germany, Vietnam and Canada. She was very proud of her accomplishments in her career and enjoyed her work very much. After retiring, she served as Secretary for the Catholic Women’s Guild at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Fairfield. She was also a member of the Rosary Society.
Although Esther was far away from her family for many years, she would often keep in contact by sending post cards from where she was stationed. Here at home she gave her time generously caring for her brother Arthur family. She liked to visit the library to read newspapers and keep up with the world news and bring plenty of books home to read. All those who loved her will miss her very much.
She is pre-deceased by her brothers James and Arthur Mario and sister Ida Miller.
She leaves behind her sister Toska Mario whom she had lived with for 40 years. Also her nieces Laurie Lynn Mario Canevali and husband Ralph of MD, Sheila Mario Ackley and Donna Mario Bailey and husband Lou both of Trumbull. Her nephews Louis James Mario of Trumbull, John Mario of Alaska and Arthur Mario and wife Diana of NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday October 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd, Fairfield. A private family interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery.
