Fran was born in Bridgeport, Ct to Michael and Ann (Principi) Vitale on May 17, 1942. Fran married the love of his life, Marlene (Taylor) on August 21, 1965. He graduated from Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. He proudly owned and operated Riccio's Drug Store in Bridgeport, Ct for well over two decades. He was a member of many boat clubs in Fairfield County before eventually landing at Miamogue Yacht Club in Bridgeport, which was often referred to as his home away from home. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be out to sea, looking for the next big catch with his fishing buddies. As much as Fran loved fishing, boating, feeding and watching his hummingbirds, his family always came first. His sense of humor and quick wit will be missed dearly. Not a conversation was had without a laugh and a memory made to last forever.
Fran is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 59 years, Marlene (Taylor) Vitale of Monroe, Ct, his son Frank Vitale Jr. (Susan Albert) of Monroe, Ct and his daughter Kimberlee (Keith) Godsey of Chesterfield, Va, two brothers, Michael Vitale of Clermont, Fl and Joseph Vitale of Stratford, Ct. He leaves behind three adored grandchildren, Brittani (Brandon) Lewis, Bryan Godsey and Austin Godsey, all of Chesterfield, Va as well as two cherished great-grandchildren, Braelynn and Boston Lewis. He also leaves several loving nephews, nieces and cousins. We must add, he will be greatly missed by his beloved Yorkie, Carli.
There will be no services at this time however a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
