Frederick Joseph Pulaski, Sr., 83 of Monroe, husband of 60 years to Ruth Krafcsik Pulaski, died on Saturday, December 14, 2013 after a long illness. Fred was born March 10, 1930 to Mary Felisko and Stephen Michael Pulaski.
He leaves his devoted son Frederick Joseph Pulaski, Jr., daughter-in-law Kathryn Pulaski of Monroe and two daughters, Diane Hiller of Litchfield, Attorney Barbara Wrenn and her husband Kevin Wrenn of Cohassett, MA. He leaves also grandchildren Timothy and Stephen Pulaski of Monroe, Jennifer Zoffoli of Litchfield, Jane and Kevin Wrenn of Cohassett, MA and step-grandson Christopher Hiller of Sharon. Great grandchildren include Dina and Jill Zoffoli as well as Nicholas Hiller and 15 nieces and nephews.
Fred is survived by sisters Evelyn Porter and Mildred Rogowski of Huntington and was predeceased by sister Irene Cennamo and oldest sister Marion Pulaski.
Fred graduated from Bassick High School in 1948. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956 and graduated from Fort Belvoir Engineering School in Virginia. Like Sgt York, he won an expert marksman award. Following his service in the army, he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft for 2 years. Fred, an NRA member, loved hunting, fishing, clamming, hiking and raising game birds. He was happy to live a simple life on the farm.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service which will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at 9:30am at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Newtown Village Cemetery.
