

He was a devoted husband to Deanna, a loving father to Stefanie and Adam, and a proud grandfather to Sofia, Louisa, Luca and Bruno. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and for his steadfast dedication to his family and loved ones.
He lived a life defined by service, humility, and quiet strength. He proudly served his country as an airman in the United States Air Force. After his service, he trained as an electrical engineering tech while working as a lab assistant in the engineering department at Yale University. He worked for Norden Systems, later part of United Technologies, in Norwalk CT for 28 years, reflecting a tireless work ethic and commitment to his company and to his family.
A talented craftsman, George reveled in building and working with his hands. He crafted furniture, establishing a carpentry business specializing in building cabinetry for small spaces. He rebuilt cars, and handled any home repair that came his way. He was particularly at peace by the water, taking joy in fishing and boating.
He loved sports and was a star athlete in basketball in his youth. In his latter years, George was an avid bocce player. He could often be seen on the court enjoying the company of his teammates.
George will be remembered for modeling strength, resilience, and through the dignity found in hard work and selfless service. Through the lives he touched he will be remembered with warmth, fondness, and respect.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, CT 06468, on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 12–1 PM, with prayers at 1 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Rd., Monroe.
