

Goncalo was the fourth child born to Teofilo and Leone Lazaro on January 10, 1928 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Goncalo attended Bridgeport and Stratford public schools. At the age of 17 yrs he enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1945-1948 and was honorably discharged after serving two years in Korea. He returned home to Connecticut where he took employment with General Electric and retired after 42 years of service. On December 27, 1950 Goncalo married Frances Barboza and 2 children were born to this union, Ella and David.
Goncalo was predeceased by Frances Barboza Lazaro, Clara B. Lazaro, Allen Lazaro(brother) and Eugenia Lopes(sister).
He leaves to carry on his legacy of love; 3 brothers Larry Lazaro of Connecticut, Robert Lazaro of Arizona, Ernest Lazaro of Connecticut and 2 sisters Marie Black and Edith Cacopoli both of Connecticut. There’s his two children Ella Torti (predeceased Charles Torti), David E. Lazaro(Valetta) of Virginia, that will cherish his memories. Gon’s grandchildren, Lazaro Torti, Troy Lazaro(Sharlene), Nicolette Rosar(Zack) and Talia Lazaro-Simpson(Dyshaun) will share stories with Gon’s great grandchildren, Solahni Lazaro, Khiry Lazaro, Shianne Lazaro, Bradley Rosar, Nina Rosar and Tamia Simpson. Former daughter in law Tanya Lazaro-Young of Connecticut and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends will miss him too.
Funeral Services will be broadcasted on Facebook for family to view. Due to current health concerns, funeral services will be privately held.
