James Alberts, 59, of Monroe, CT went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 5th with his loving wife and son at his side.

Jim’s strength and courage during his 4 year battle with cancer inspired all who know and love him. Even in the most challenging years of his life, he selflessly and joyfully spent time ministering to others. Jim’s everlasting love will remain with his best friend and wife, Carol Chirillo Alberts and his pride and joy, his son Ross James Alberts. He will always be the best brother ever to Blanche Kaswer (Joseph) of Frisco, TX, Mary Ann Alberts of Milford, CT and Susan Alberts Pepper of Mt. Dora, Florida. His many nieces and nephews will always remember their special relationship with their Uncle Jimmy.

Jim always enjoyed all that life had to offer, especially on the golf course and in the stands at the Winston Cup races. But his greatest joy was time spent with family and his devoted circle of friends. Time at the beach with his wife and time at the Mets games with his son brought him immense pleasure. He especially enjoyed playing bass as a member of the Worship Team at Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church in Monroe. Jim proudly served in the US coast Guard. Jim was well known in the heating industry through work at Santa Fuel, Weill-McLain and Urell.

Calling hours will be at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home in Monroe on Saturday, March 9th at 2 to 6 pm. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be at Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church in Monroe on Sunday, March 10th at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Beacon Hill Evangelical Free Church in Monroe.

I had the blessing of working with Jim for a time. When I met Jim, I immediately knew he was a special person and we had a wonderful relationship. I was working at home with music playing, listening to the song “Up Where We Belong” when I got a text from a mutual friend that Jim had passed. The tears came and I thought the song must be a message from Jim He’s ok - up in heaven, where he belongs. I will surely miss him and will carry the light of his smile in my memory forever.
Rest in piece my friend.

Uncle Jimmy meant the world to us especially to Pasquale. Many happy and fun times together going to modified races all over . Stafford Speedway was the favorite of them all. He was there for Pasquale growing up during difficult times of divorce with his parents. He was always around for Nikki’s birthdays and other get togethers. We moved so far away, we didn’t get to see each other. We are heartbroken we didn’t get to see you before you left us. We can rest assured you are in the arms of Jesus. We will see you again one day. We pray for Aunt Carol and Cousin Ross and the rest of the family for comfort, strength and healing. We love you Uncle Jimmy ❤️🙏

Dear Carol, Ross, and Gustey
This time is bittersweet in the home going of our much beloved, Jimmy. Truly a one of a kind servant of others through Jimmy's love for Jesus. Devoted to his wife and family as well as his church family and hundreds of friends. All of us who experienced his love, faith, and courage have been encouraged and inspired by him. I cannot wait to see Jimmy in heaven. He will be playing bass and his incredible smile and joy will know no boundaries. Our prayers are with Carol, Ross, and Gustey. The victory of Jesus and total healing are Jim's forever.
Love,
Ves and Jill Sheely
