Jean E. Moffat, 89, passed away early Thursday morning, February 20th, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Her passing comes just a day after celebrating her 89th birthday there with family. Jean resided at Brightview Senior Living in Shelton, CT, previously from Trumbull, CT and New Canaan, CT.
Jean was born to Harold Raymond Clark and Esther Elizabeth Bedell of Stamford, CT. She attended Katharine Gibbs School and later worked in various administrative roles at Royal Typewriter Company, the New Canaan YMCA and the New Canaan Police Department.
Jean was a proud member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution organizations. In addition, she attended and was active in the Trumbull Congregational Church, New Canaan Congregational Church and most recently Monroe Congregational Church.
Jean is survived by her daughter Linda (Paul) and son Eric (Tracy) as well as her five grandchildren; Rebecca, Matthew, Andrew, Samuel and Aaron. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Ray Clark and sister Lois Wright. Jean was predeceased by her parents, husband George of over 59 years and sister Gertrude.
Calling hours will be at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home in Monroe, CT, 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025. A funeral service will follow immediately at the funeral home as well. Interment will follow privately on March 1, 2025 at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan, CT.
