Joan M Fosco

Joan Mildred (LeDuc) Fosco, 82, of Monroe, CT and Wilmington, VT peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Fosco was born on July 19, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT. Joan graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 and worked at Bridgeport Hospital for 25 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She was a life member of the Women’s Auxiliary at East End Yacht Club. Joan loved traveling; collecting angels and penguins; watching the NY Yankees and UConn Athletics. Many happy and fond memories were shared with friends and family at her home in Vermont. Joan was preceeded in death by her parents Robert and Elsie LeDuc.

Joan is survived by her adoring husband of 59 years, Raymond Fosco. Joan is also survived by her brother, Robert LeDuc Jr. (Dorothy); children Karin Maffe (Guy), Raymond Fosco Jr. (Roxanne), Pamela Fosco (Robert), Kimberly Giglietta (John); grandchildren Kara Giglietta, Jenna Maffe, Danielle Giglietta, Anthony Giglietta; and her beloved grand-dogs.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, Connecticut. The family will receive visitors from 5pm-8pm. Donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Northeastern Boxer Rescue, Box 95, Sunderland, MA 01375.
