John was born on January 15, 1952, to beloved parents Frances and the late Stanley Chop. John was a very skilled carpenter who was known for being able to build anything and was taught by his father. He repaired clocks and eventually proudly took on the family business, The Country Clockmaker. John always put others before himself and found joy in using his talent in carpentry to help family and friends. One of his favorite activities was taking trips on his boat. John enjoyed being in the company of others and was known to light up the room with his wonderful smile and warm personality.
With sorrow, John leaves behind his true passion in life, his family, dearly beloved wife Diane Chop, son, Adam Chop, of Meriden, CT, Daughter Pamela Chop-Kilgore and her husband Brendan of Allen, TX, and son Joseph Chop, of Danbury, CT. John also leaves behind his sisters and lifelong friends Christine Bockiaro and Rebecca Bodnar, along with many nieces and nephews.
