John Corbett Jr.

John Owen Corbett Jr., Age 66, Passed away on Monday, September 5th, at the West Side House Nursing Home in Worchester Ma., Following a long illness. He will be missed by both Family and Friends alike.

John was born at Bridgeport Hospital on April 2nd 1950. The eldest son of John Owen Corbett and Margaret Jane Corbett, (both deceased).

A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, John attended St. Peter Grammar School, graduating with the class of 1966. He then attended Bassick High School as a member of the class of 1970.

After High School John enlisted in the United States Army, He served from November 1969 through August 1972 as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. His service included a tour of duty in Vietnam (1970/71.)

John is survived by Brothers Thomas M. Corbett of Bridgeport Ct., Michael P. Corbett and Family of Brooklyn NY. His Loving Aunts, Many Cousins, and his Nephew and Niece.

Visiting Hours will be held Sunday, September 11th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, at the Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, located at 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe Ct. 06468. There will be a service at the Funeral Home at 10:00AM on Monday September 12th followed by John’s burial at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown CT.

In lieu of flowers the Family would like to request donations to the VA Hospital, located in West haven Ct., or the National Diabetes Foundation.
