

Joseph Pozvek, 82, of Monroe, husband of Margaret Kertesz Pozvek, passed away Friday November 13th at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on March 3, 1933 he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Ruscho Pozvek and had been a Monroe resident since 1957. Mr. Pozvek was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he was an electrical installer with AT&T. Joseph was a loving father who was very active in the Monroe Little League and the Boy Scouts of America. Not only did Joseph coach the youngsters for many years, he was also very active in the Mesa Arizona Senior Softball League until 2008. Joseph loved woodworking and valued his time spent with his loving family. In addition to his loving wife and best friend Marge of sixty years Joseph is survived by four sons, Joey Pozvek, Gary Pozvek (Tricia), Carl Pozvek (Nancy) and Michael Pozvek (Laura), two cherished daughters, Mary Ellen Wilkes (Larry) and Loretta Kandrot (Al), eight grandchildren, Kate Hayward, Jesse Pozvek, Christopher and Jessica Wilkes, John and Matthew Kandrot, Ryan Hogan and Shannon Hogan-Jackson and three greatgrandchildren, Adam, Carter and Charley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 12:00 Noon at St Jude Catholic Church 707 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery 2205 Stratford Avenue Stratford. Friends may visit Wednesday morning prior to the Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Spadaccino and Leo P.
