Laura Trombetta, age 81, of Monroe, Connecticut departed this life on September 18, 2018 and entered into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life was marked by the unconditional love that she emanated. Laura was the heart of the family and a devoted mother and grandmother. Laura was the bond that held everyone together. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Laura’s life was filled with compassion for others, and she united many people with her loving spirit. She was a kind heart to all and will be deeply missed.
Laura was born in Introdacqua, Italy and at a young age came to start a new life with her family in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She met her husband, Domenick, while working at Ann’s Bakery as a teenager. Laura and Domenick married on June 2, 1956 in Bridgeport where they resided until moving to Monroe to raise their family. Laura was a resident of Monroe for nearly five decades, and was a proud member of Beacon Hill Church.
Laura’s most cherished place to be was with her family. She adored her three sons and every moment she spent with her grandchildren. Laura was a gracious host. She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, and all left with a full tummy. A hardworking woman and devout Christian, Laura took pride in her time at Sikorsky and treasured her regular bible study with friends. Laura enjoyed gardening, backyard bird feeding, shopping with her granddaughter, singing, visiting the casino, charitable giving, cooking feasts for her family, and loving and spoiling her cat, Abbey.
Laura was the daughter of the late Vincent and Louisa Tiberi. She is predeceased by her husband, Domenick Trombetta, her brother, Vincent Tiberi, and her grandson, Domenick M. Trombetta. She is survived by her children, Michael (Maryann), Anthony (Teri) and John (Rosa). She also leaves her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy, Christina (Jonathan), John, Anthony (Lindsey), James, Daniel, Laura, Joshua, Rachel, Zachary and Simeon. Laura also leaves her brother, Elio Tiberi (Antoinette), sister-in-law, Dolores Tiberi, brother-in-law, Louie Trombetta (Nancy) as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Please come to celebrate the blessing of Laura’s life. Calling hours will be held Sunday, September 23rd, 4-8pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Service will be held on Monday, September 24th, 11am at Beacon Hill Church, 371 Old Zoar Road, Monroe. Burial to immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull.
