Lisa Liphardt

May 26, 1954May 17, 2020

Lisa Barber Liphardt (65) of Naugatuck, CT passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 in East Windsor, CT. Lisa was born in Milford, CT to Thomas and Dorothy Barber on May 26, 1954. She graduated from Central High School Bridgeport in 1973.

Lisa lived most of her life in Bridgeport, spending countless days at Seaside Park. She studied dance and acrobatics at Zita Carrano Dancers Studio in Bridgeport and at Broadway Dance Center under Charles Kelly. She had the honor to perform at the 1964 World Fair in New York City. She loved to dance, and nothing was ever done around the house without music. Whatever activities her daughters were involved in you could always find Lisa giving a helping hand. She was PTA President for Multicultural Magnet School, the ultimate stage mom, known for her sense of humor and love of life.

Lisa will be remembered by her beloved daughters Jennifer Kratky and Melissa Swindon, her three adored grandsons Michael, Jack and Ryan, her dedicated husband of 35 years James Liphardt, her best friends Linda and Nancy, her brother Dave, sister-in-law Pam, her sister Joanne and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved very much.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father Tom, her mother Dorothy, her stepmother Barbara, her sisters Phyllis, Sandra and niece Holly.

Due to the concerns about social gatherings affecting us all at this time, funeral and interment services will be held privately at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Easton, CT. Arrangements are by Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, Monroe, CT. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in her name to the Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT.

Dear Jennifer and Melissa,
I am so saddened to learn of the passing of your mother. She was truly a formidable woman in the best sense of the word, a fierce advocate for her daughter's and a truly remarkable person. I have no words that will adequately express my condolences, other than to say that I truly understand what you are going through during this difficult time. MCM families were close but BOE ties are even closer. I am holding you both tightly to my heart and the prayers are going forth to you both, and especially to our "Jennifer" who was such an important member of our family even post MCM years. Melissa, love you too!

I was so sorry to hear of Lisa’s passing. We went to Central High School together and were friends during those years and graduated together. (My name was Sandy Vendetti at that time.) Lisa was full of life and always smiling and laughing- in fact, I can still remember her laugh to this day! Lisa was a good friend and I will always remember her - she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Dearest Lisa,
As I remember, you were the first to start calling me sister in law, even before I actually was! Your love and enthusiasm for life lives on in Jennifer, Melissa, and the boys! I will always admire how you faced Huntington Disease with such strength. Rest in peace!
Love you always,
Pam and Dave

I affectionately called Lisa "Mom" because was always another mother to me, as she was to all of her daughters' friends-- taking us to the beach, buying us ice cream, and hosting parties where there was always music playing! She was so full of life, love, and humor-- her energy will surely be missed... I am praying for strength and healing for her family.

I met this incredible woman when I was a student at Multicultural Magnet. I remember going to her home and still today I can feel her love. She was a wonderful mother and a support to all the children at Multicultural Magnet. I will be praying your girls, God bless you all.
