Lucille Cote

Lucille Cyr Cote , age 85, of Monroe, was born on June 13, 1926 and passed away on November 9, 2011 at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton, CT. Born in St. Andre, NB, Canada, she was wife to the late Louis D. Cote and the daughter of the late Angele and Walter Cyr. She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Jane Hebert and Linda Soules and brothers Enoil, Clovis, Bertin, Stephen, Conrad, Yvon, Richard, Gilles and Camille Cyr. Survivors include her sons Raymond , Morris , Richard, John, and James and daughter Susan Arribas, her sister, Isabelle Carpenter and brothers Rene, Charles, Nelson and Walter Cyr and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, she had 16 wonderful grandchildren and 5 beautiful great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to her. Mrs. Cote was a long-time resident of Monroe. Widowed at a young age, she raised 8 children on her own. Though of little means, she was extremely generous and selfless, always taking the needs of her children over her own. Her greatest joy was to be with her family at her beloved home in Monroe, built by her late husband 55 years ago. She will be truly missed by her family and many friends in the community.A Memorial Mass for friends and family will be held at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, on Wednesday, November 16 at 10:00 am. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who choose may make donations to the Monroe Senior Center, 235 Cutlers Farm Road, Monroe, CT 06468.
