Mrs. Marilou Mace Flanagan of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Greenwich, Connecticut, died peacefully on September 7 2018. She was born on October 25, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to James and Helene Mace.
Mrs. Flanagan spent her formative years in Beaver, Pennsylvania, serving as Captain of the Beaver High School cheerleaders for two years. She received a Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University in 1949.
Mrs. Flanagan was married for 65 years to the late Philbin S. Flanagan.
She was an active member of the Junior Women's Club in Greenwich for many years. She was also a member of the choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenwich for most of her adult life.
One of her great passions was designing, sewing and modeling her own clothes, for which she won several awards.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Simpson, daughter Sarah Flanagan and her husband George Arguelles and by her son Peter Flanagan and his wife Peri. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Matthew and Jacob Simpson; Tyler Flanagan-Arguelles and her fiancé Mark Szandzik; Riley Flanagan-Arguelles and Paul, William and John Flanagan. She was predeceased by her husband Philbin and by her son-in-law David Simpson.
Mrs. Flanagan's inurnment will be at Putnam Cemetery Greenwich, CT on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. Any donations may be made to the choir of the First Presbyterian Church, Greenwich Connecticut.
