Michael Adam Cestari

Michael Adam Cestari, age 39 of Newtown, CT, passed away on September 17, 2021. Michael was born in Danbury, CT, to Craig Cestari and Ellen Maxwell. Michael is a Certified Recovery Coach Professional, an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, and an ASFA Certified Master Trainer. He was the co-founder and co-owner of By Grace Recovery Services.

Michael will be remembered for his kindness and zest for life. He was soft-spoken but his presence was powerful. He found his passion in helping others, but first he had to help himself. Michael was proud of his recovery from SUD and found a way to incorporate that into helping others. Alongside his wife, Danielle, he cofounded By Grace Recovery Services which provides in-home treatment for those struggling with SUD. Together, they also opened By Grace Health and Wellness Studio, which allowed Michael to serve as a mentor to those in need by providing free recovery groups and services. Michael’s adventurous side craved anything that would feed his adrenaline such as street bikes, dirt bikes, quads and fast cars. Michael believed that life should be lived without fear or regret. He believed that living in self-love, compassion, and forgiveness, would not only heal ourselves but the world around us.

Michael is survived by his wife, Danielle Meldon-Cestari; his son, Ryder Craig Cestari; his siblings Katherine Marie Wright and Christopher Craig Cestari; his parents, Craig Cestari and Ellen Maxwell; and many other family, friends and loved ones.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2 – 6pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. There will be a memorial reading from 4:30pm-5:00pm. For those who wish to be present for the memorial reading, please arrive by 4:15pm.
