She was born in San Mango, Sul Calore, Italy, to Vitantonio and Domenica Boccuzzi on October 17, 1935.
She married Bartolomeo Melchionno on April 29, 1959 and worked for Reads and Macy’s Department stores for 20 years.
Olimpia loved cooking, sewing and Sunday dinners surrounded by family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Augustus (Tina) and their children Marcus and Christopher, Frank (Terri) and their sons Scott ( Ashleigh) and Sean (Jen Daltorio ), her son, Peter (Jennifer Klein) and their daughter, McKayla. She was also blessed with her great granddaughter , Katalina. She is also survived by her brother, Sabino (Denise) Boccuzzi and many nieces and nephews, both here and in Italy.
In addition to her parents, Olimpia was preceded in death by her siblings, Concetta Coppola, Mariantonia DiBlasi, Quintio Boccuzzi and Elio Boccuzzi.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7th from 4pm-7pm at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke, Monroe CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at St. Jude Church with burial to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Monroe.
