

Ovilda (Vil) A. Grenon, 75, of Derby died peacefully on May 15, 2016 at Hospice in Branford. Ovilda was born in East Haven, CT., the son of the late Dr. Ovilda A. Grenon and Ruth (Manning) Grenon. He graduated from East Haven High School class of 1960. He gave his service to the US Navy and the Army National Guard, serving as a Medical Specialist. He retired from Olin Corporation and later in retirement worked for Griffin Hospital. A job he greatly enjoyed. Many a weekend was spent exploring all parts of Connecticut, going to the Casino, enjoying special holidays with his family and patiently accompanying his wife to many craft shows and estate shows.
Besides his wife Judith (Savage) Grenon he leaves two daughters Michele (Glenn) Gustine of East Hampton, CT. and Tara (Daniel) Sahno of East Hampton, CT.Sons David Grenon of Derby, CT. and a stepson Timothy J (Alisa) Butterworth of Oxford.
Five grandchildren of whom he was very proud: Joshua, Rebecca, Kaia, Nelson, Veronica. He is also survived by a sister Suzanne Migani of Seymour and two brothers Bruce Grenon of Stony Creek Ct. and Justin Grenon of Branford. He was predeceased by two brothers, Noel Grenon of Old Saybrook and Dubriel Grenon of Guilford.
Calling hours will be held at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, CT 06468 from 10:00am-11:00am with an 11:00am service on May 18, 2016. Burial will immediately follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery in Easton.
