The daughter of Myron and Renee Bresnick, she was raised for most of her childhood in Scarsdale, New York. In her youth, she treasured summers spent in Montauk. She graduated from Skidmore College with her bachelor degree and obtained master degrees at Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University. She spent her early career as a teacher and library media specialist, and later became a freelance writer and editor for her final twenty-five years of life.
Peggy is remembered as a kindhearted friend, generous soul, lover of animals and the savior of her many pets, and cherished mother of Jesse and Lizzie Kendler. She carried a lifelong love of music, film, and writing, and was eager to share her passions with anyone fortunate enough to meet her. Many remember Peggy through these passions. Early in her life, she attended foreign film festivals in Cannes and elsewhere with her family through her father’s business. Throughout her last decade, she attended live concerts as frequently as possible, and the shows became a venue to meet many of her friends. Others knew her as a childhood friend, classmate at Skidmore, or as a colleague in her writing career. Peggy is loved and will be deeply missed by so many who have enjoyed the pleasure of having their life intersect with hers.
She is survived by her son, Jesse Kendler; daughter, Lizzie Kendler; and countless beloved friends.
