Perry was born in Strangolagalli in the Frosinone province of Italy to Gino and Natalina on July 21, 1937. He grew up on the family farm where among his many chores, he looked after a beloved donkey. He immigrated to the United States as a teenager, and at age 18, Perry began operating a machine press at Harvey Hubbell Inc. He worked his way up the ranks to become a Plant Engineer, retiring after 42 years with the company. In November 1975, he married Carol Susan Liskoski in Fairfield, CT. Perry was a devoted father who showed up for every dance recital and soccer practice. He believed deeply in the value of education, and made frequent road trips to visit his children Joy and Michael at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. For decades, Perry tended a bountiful garden that was marvelous to behold, and family, friends, and neighbors all enjoyed its fresh produce. He was especially proud of growing (and weighing) a 50 pound watermelon.
Perry was predeceased by his wife, Carol.
He is survived by his daughter Dr. Joy Lisi Rankin and her husband Scott Rankin, his son Michael Lisi, one grandchild, his devoted partner Maureen Birch of Shelton, his sister Anna Linley (Jim), several nieces and nephews, and the family dogs Lexi and Oatmeal.
A wake will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home in Monroe, CT, on Monday, November 2nd, from 4 - 7pm.
Funeral services will be held at St. Lawrence Church in Shelton at 10:30 am on November 3rd, with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull, CT.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (https://curealz.org/).
Perry’s family sincerely thanks the Griswold Home Care and Hospice staff who made sure Perry was well-cared for and comfortable at home, especially Michael Rhoden.
