Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen, son David and his wife Felice and predeceased by his son Richard C. Haller. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cristina Sanborn and her husband Rick of Raeford, N.C., Cheryl and Amanda Haller and 3 great grandchildren Jack, Grant and Laila.
Richard served in WWII with the U.S. Army 8th Engineers Squadron in the Pacific theater. He also served as a special officer with the Trumbull Police Dept. and was co-owner of Haller and Stowe Oil Co. In his retirement Richard and Helen, along with friends and family enjoyed many years of camping and traveling the U.S. in their RV.
Rich will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor and big blue eyes. Deepest appreciation from the family for the dedicated care he received from the staff on 1 North at Griffin Hospital and Shelton Lakes Apple Rehab. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Nov. 6th, 2010 from 11AM to 1PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher and Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke, Monroe,CT.
Burial will be private.
