Robert Michael DeCarlo, 51, beloved husband of Wendy (Johnson) DeCarlo of Sandy Hook, CT passed away on Tuesday March 20, 2018. Born September 13, 1966, in Stamford, he was the son of the late John and Theresa (Luberto) DeCarlo.
Bob was a graduate of J.M. Wright Technical High School in 1984, and UCONN with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He was Past Master for the Ancient Free & Accepted Masons (2000) of Union Lodge #5, Stamford, CT. He was also Past Potentate (2012) and a member of the Motor Patrol of Pyramid Shriners #9, Stratford, CT for many years.
Bob loved his career as a mechanical engineer and loved to talk about all the projects he designed over the years. His favorite past times included photography, hiking and camping to name a few, but his most cherished times were spent with family, friends and most of all he loved playing, building airplanes and painting with his best buddy Zackary. Bob was a kind man and was very giving. He was always there to help whenever someone needed and he never had to be asked. His laughter and humor were contagious. His smile lit up the room! He was a kind, generous, and funny soul who will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife of nearly 10 years, Robert is survived by his daughter Jenifer Burke and grandson Zackary; his brother John and wife Susan of Trumbull, and their daughter Kelly; sister, Jean Briese and husband Don of Arizona; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends and several “adopted step-children”.
