Ronald Alan Bassett

Mr. Bassett was born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Harry and L. Bernice (Bousquet) Stanziale. He was in the armed services and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for a few years. He then worked at Ethical Pharmacy in Bridgeport for many years before retiring. He loved his family and would pack them all in a station wagon and drive to Florida every summer. He loved to read, cook, take photos & home movies as well as take care of the birds in his yard. He loved spending time with his family, especially making homemade pasta for Sunday dinners.

He married Virginia Mary Ciotti in December of 1953 and celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary last year with their children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Virginia, his children, Kevin and wife Melissa Bassett, Craig and wife Grace Bassett, Karen and husband Michael O'Hearn and Kurt and wife Robin Bassett as well as his daughter-in-law Dawn Guarino. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jarrett, Dalton, Landon, and Jensen Bassett, Gabrielle Dukes and husband Jamie, Mallory Robbins and husband Brad, Haley and Ethan Bassett and Kendal O’Hearn and his great grandchild Roy Dukes. His sister, Sharon Atkas also survives him. He was predeceased by his first son, Ronald Bassett, Jr. and his first grandson, Jordan Bassett. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Dana and Sean Stanziale.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke. Monroe, CT from 9:30 to 11:00 followed by a short service.
