Sylvia Davidson

Sylvia Parsons Davidson- age 100 peacefully passed July 25, 2013 at Masonicare in Newtown, CT. She was predeceased by her husband Howard B. Davidson in 2012 after 76 years of marriage. Sylvia was born February 5th , 1913 in Newtown to the late Louis Birdsey Parsons and the late Vivian Wetmore. Sylvia graduated Central high school, Bridgeport, CT. She was an actress in small shows, sang in choruses and enjoyed life in all ways. Sylvia was employed at W.T Grants and then at Stratford AVCO-Lycoming. She and Howard camped and traveled the United States and British Isles with family. They loved plants, gardens, animals, large and small and most especially boxer dogs. They loved all the extended family. They were long-time members of the 1st Baptist Church, Bridgeport. Later Sylvia and Howard were cared for by the community of faith at Monroe United Methodist Church. Sylvia is survived by her daughter Elizabeth D. Sword (Carl) of Monroe, CT, her son Howard B. Davidson Jr. (Carol) of Naugatuck, CT and her son Charles Davidson (Sonia) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sylvia is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 2pm-5pm at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 29th at 1:30pm at Monroe Methodist Church, 515 Cutler’s Farm Road, Monroe. Prior to service, family and friends are invited to gather at the church for light refreshments at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Zoar Cemetery, Rte 34, Sandy Hook, CT.
