Theresa DiGennaro-Ramakers

January 11, 1954April 27, 2021

Terry Ramakers, longtime resident of Monroe, passed away on April 27 2021, she was just 67.

Born in the Bronx, NY, daughter of Gabriel and Lena DiGennaro. She was employed at American Express and worked as a Manager, Direct Marketing Excellence.

She is survived by her spouse Jan Ramakers. She will be remembered as a loving, open minded and friendly person. Her love for all the animals that we had in and around the house. Therefore it was her wish to not spend money on flowers, but make a donation to an animal shelter, and/or North Shore Animal League, Humane Society, or other related associations that take care for those little creatures who cannot care for themselves. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, May 1st, 1 – 4pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT.

As an addition to the specific instruction from Terry about her memorial, wake and cremation, she also did let me know that she did want to have an afternoon party with food and drinks, so that we, friends and family could honor her life and what a beautiful person she was. So, to take care of that, I would like to invite you to the house after the ceremony to do that. The address is 18 Deerfield Lane, Monroe, CT 06468.

In memory of the beautiful daughter of my brother Gabe and his beautiful wife Lena, I will always be grateful for the precious memories we shared including your childhood years, your wedding to Jan, and more recently the family reunion in Connecticut where I was happy to see and talk to Terry and everybody in our amazing family. My best wishes to Jan, Phillip, Marie, and Anne. I love you and think of you often. Terry will be missed by all of us.

I am still in shock over the sudden loss of Terry! My deepest condolences to Jan, Marie, Phil, Rose, Anne and the rest of the DiGennaro- Ramakers family. Terry was a lovely and funny person and an animal lover like myself, and whenever I saw her we always had a wonderful conversation about our respective pets. She will be deeply missed.

Terry was a wonderful person. We were somewhat close in age--I was a few years older--and I thought that from when young we always felt a connection. I always liked her company immensely. She was always so thoughtful, loving, open-minded, and great to talk to and be with. That's a great spirit gone... She will be missed. My condolences.

Terry, cousin Theresa, joy, laughter, giving, fun, I couldn't talk faster but tried, came close. A shining star, missing her so much and great memories live on. She was my confirmation sponsor and her name we share. It's not a legal name but it's more significant being we both loved mother Theresa too. She will live on & on....Terry was so sweet and she is a constant reminder of peace and love.

Jan, I remember the first time Dave and I met Terry! You came over for dinner with Tom & Kathy when we lived in New Jersey. We had such a wonderful time! I feel blessed to have known you both! And I am so happy that I got to see you both again at Taylor’s Sweet 16! My heart breaks for you and your family. You know if I could be there, I would! ❌⭕️❌⭕️❌⭕️💔💔💔💔

Dear Terry,
You kidnapped our best friend to New York. Fortunately, we did not lose our friend, but thanks to you we got a piece of new family and friends. We were allowed to enjoy a piece of New York and later Connecticut.
You were also the one who made sure that the two of you were there at our 25th wedding anniversary. A wonderful memory. We will always be grateful to you.
With love, Ellen and Joop from the Netherlands

As is always the case, we are left with only memories, maybe a few mementos, but the memories are most important, and memories of Terry are a treasure chest of warmth and joy.

I know this through my wife Ann, Terry's sister. We hope to be remembered as fondly at the end of our own journeys, living on in loving hearts and minds.

Rest in peace Terry, you will always be with us.
