Theresa Spinelli, 78, a 60-year resident of Monroe, Connecticut, went home to be with the Lord on July 9th, 2026, surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son after a heroic, off and on, 16-year battle with thyroid cancer.
Theresa was born March 24th, 1948, in Manhattan, NY, residing in the Bronx before growing up in Trumbull, Connecticut. She graduated from Trumbull High School in 1966. Theresa was employed at Kiddie Campus Nursery School and a longtime employee of Monroe Elementary School as a paraprofessional.
Terry was a phenomenal cook and got tremendous joy in feeding & entertaining family and friends but also loved eating Pepe's Pizza.
Theresa's faith was an unshakable part of her life which she led her family in by her example.
Theresa will always be remembered for always having a radiant smile on her face, her positive and fun-loving attitude, and her overwhelming concern and care that she provided for her family and others.
Theresa is survived by her most dedicated and devout husband of 51 years who never left her side, Giuseppe (Joseph) Spinelli, daughter Gina (Robert) Regel, and son, Joseph Spinelli, Jr.
She is also survived by her sisters Clare Swayze and Veronica Woodford as well as many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by parents Andrew III & Adeline Brose, sister Maryanne Tillot, and brother Andrew Brose IV.
The family would like to thank her care team, Sara Richer, MD, Andrea Leandres, RN, John-Paul Ayala MD, Pam Jenkins, RCP, and Serah, RN, and most especially her loving & devoted son who never left her side, cared for her, and held her hand from the beginning to the very end, affording her many happy and healthy years.
